When I found out there is a way I could help put an end to it, I couldn’t just keep it to myself!
I am happy to let everyone know that Post-it® Brand* and The Bayshore Shopping Centre are taking an initiative to end bullying in Canada by supporting the Shaw Communications’ #PinkShirtPromise campaign!
For those of you not aware of its history, #PinkShirtPromise is a campaign in association with the anti-bullying movement in Canada corresponding to Pink Shirt Day (February 24th). The origin of Pink Shirt Day became apparent back in September 2007, after a Nova Scotia high school student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. As a result, two senior students arranged for their classmates to wear pink in solidarity. Since then, Pink Shirt Day has significantly gained recognition in Canada to take a stand against bullying.
SO HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP!
Starting TMW until February 24th, Bayshore mall visitors will be invited to post their personal pledge against bullying (on a pink post it) to the Pink Shirt Promise installation in centre court. For every pledge posted, Bayshore will donate $0.25 to DIFD (DO IT FOR DAREN), an initiative focused on raising awareness and transforming youth mental health.
To help inspire others in supporting this cause, please help raise awareness by using the hashtag #PinkShirtPromise on Twitter, Instagram and Instagram. To sweeten the pot, Each promise made using the #PinkShirtPromise hashtag will be eligible for a chance to win an ET Canada Experience:
1) Flight for two to Toronto + two nights hotel accommodation
2) $1,500 dollar shopping spree at Bayshore Shopping Centre.
So POST POST POST!
I am hoping everyone takes part of this remarkable initiative! Please show your support by wearing a Pink T-shirt on February 24th (pink shirt day) to take part in the#pinkshirtpromise movement !
Have a lovely day and remember to…
